Limited editions of 16 tables in various woods

“Pure mathematical shapes are universal forms beyond human control. It is the language of nature. That is what I find so interesting when I use these forms in my designs.“

KUBO - Walnut - 2011

KUBO was first designed in 2007 for the ”Branching out exhibition at Design Museum Denmark.
The geometry of the table is inspired by a Leonardo da Vinchi Polyhedra model, as appeared in the Divina Proportione by Luca Pacioli (1509, Venice).
Pure mathematical shapes are universal forms beyond human control. It is the language of nature. That is what Fenhann find so interesting when he uses these forms in his designs. The beauty of these perfect shapes fits so well with perfect craftsmanship. The work of hand and machines are united to obtain what it is all about - absolute precision.
The sculptural KUBO tables may be combined in various ways to form bigger structures, or they can work separately as small side tables. KUBO is a brilliant example of Scandinavian design, as it occupies space like a sculpture while remaining perfectly functional.

Process

The first KUBO tables were made with analogue routing jigs. Gluing requires a lot of patience, accuracy and speed.
