"When two organic shapes meet each other, a sharp curvy line appears"

Curve

This project is focused on shape and the relation between light and shadow. When two organic shapes meet each other, a sharp curvy line appears and in this meeting point light shifts into shadow and make beautiful new shapes.

Process

This project is exploring a work process that combines the work of the hand and mind. Rasmus Fenhann started working directly in the material making a scale model in wood. The model was then 3D scanned and converted into CNC programming. Next step was to scale it up in the computer and transform it into CNC milling code.
Even though Fenhann use modern 3D technology, the project is mostly hand tool based. The computer work is only a fraction of the total work time in this project, but it opens up for new and fascinating possibilities to combine the knowledge of the hands with the knowledge of the mind.

The project was made partly at The Danish Art Workshops in Copenhagen and in Fenhann's  workshop.

The project was supported by the Danish Art Foundation.
