Paris 2009
In relation to my exhibition project "My Precious" I decided to travel to Paris to study "Galuchat". This is an ancient technique using the skins of the Stingray. The technique was used a lot in the 1920 in the Art Deco period.
I used this opportunity to visit some museums and study this furniture and also I was fortunate to be able to visit some of the most skill full cabinetmakers remaining in Paris. The trip would not have been the same without the help from the Danish Cabinetmaker Anna Østrup, who had a workshop in Paris at that time.
